Lifesaver

Lifesaver
Standing alone at the seaside
Strong as a rock
Steady as the waves
Reliable as the moon tides

Children of the Sunday picnics rush past by you
Damsels of the freezing afternoons avoid your gaze
Fisherman on the dock nod as they clean up their nets

Once in a lifetime there was a life for you to save
Tiny arms loosing strength in the middle of the cold ocean
You were there as always
As commons as the seagulls

Is there anyone who might turn on the lighthouse in your damp path
Save you from the dry land?
